College Essay Advising

As a Ph.D. in Literature with expertise in writing, analysis, and communication, I offer a level of feedback grounded in years of academic training. My approach is thoughtful, personalized, and rigorous, but accessible.

While I bring high-level writing and teaching experience, my college advising practice is still growing. That’s why my rates are positioned to reflect expertise you can trust and pricing that respects your budget.

These rates are thoughtfully positioned between those of typical online writing coaches and elite national admissions firms, which often exceed $400 per hour. With my academic background, personalized process, and commitment to clarity, I aim to offer meaningful value to students and families during the college admissions process.

Essay Advising Packages & Rates

Core Package | $1,750
- Common App + 3 supplements. Includes 2–3 live sessions, strategy support, unlimited essay reviews, timeline guidance, final edits, and email support.

Premium Package | $2,475
- Common App + 6 supplements. Includes 4–6 live sessions, strategy support, unlimited essay reviews, timeline guidance, final edits, and email support.

Hourly Coaching | $150 per hour
- Live sessions for brainstorming, revision guidance, or real-time editing support.

Single Essay Review | $325 per essay
- One essay (Common App or supplement). Includes two rounds of feedback with marginal comments.

Additional Supplemental Essay | $175 per essay
- For package clients needing feedback and polish on additional essays.

Final Polish | $125 per essay
- One round of line-level editing for grammar, clarity, and tone.

Short Courses

Experience a boutique educational setting where individual students or small groups of 3–5 students explore literature-based topics through carefully curated readings and engaging discussions. These 6-week courses provide personalized attention and expert guidance in a focused, seminar-style format.

With class sizes capped at 3–5 students, each course ensures meaningful interaction and tailored support. Students meet twice weekly for live online seminars: 60 minutes per session for individuals, or 75 minutes for small groups. Curated short readings are provided as PDFs whenever possible, while students are responsible for purchasing full books as needed.

Policies

Payment required at registration. Payment accepted via credit card. We do not offer refunds for courses once enrolled.

24-hour cancellation notice required. We reserve the right to reschedule sessions in the event of extenuating circumstances. When possible, we will provide advanced notice and offer alternative times.

Prepaid tutoring hours, packages, or account balances cannot be transferred from one student/client to another. Packages expire after 6 months.

After the initial consultation or during the early stages of enrollment, if we feel that our program may not fully meet the student’s needs, we may kindly suggest alternative options and reserve the right to pause or decline enrollment to ensure the best possible fit.
